Today's Groupon offers Up to 288 Fragrant Lavender Hidcote and Munstead Plug Plants, distributed by Van Meuwen.
- Hardy perennials that flower annually
- This drought-tolerant plant thrives in sunny borders or patio containers
- Silver-grey foliage with spikes of violet flowers
- Easy to grow
- English Lavender can be used to make low hedges or edging to pathways
- Supplied as plug plants
- For best garden performance pot on and grow for a few weeks before planting in the final position
- Water well and position in full sun when planting
- Flowers from mid-June through to August
- Each plant will grow to approx. 60cm - 90cm at maturity
- Full planting and aftercare instructions are supplied
- Each collection contains two varieties:
- Hidcote: evergreen semi-shrub with narrow, silver-grey leaves and leafless stems topped with deep, purple-blue tubular flowers in summer
- Munstead: dwarf compact variety with dense mounds of evergreen, grey-green foliage bearing deep-lavender flower spikes during summer
Culinary note: Some parts of these flowers are edible
Growing Instructions:
- Grow English lavender plants in free-draining soil and position in full sun
- Lavenders dislike wet ground, particularly during winter
- Improve heavy soil conditions by adding coarse grit or sharp sand prior to planting
- When growing English lavender in large patio containers, use a well-drained soil-based compost
- After planting, prune lavender plants to encourage bushy growth
