The Experience
China, the world’s oldest continuous civilisation, constantly awakens the minds of travellers with its antique heritage, constant development, mouth-watering cuisine, and temple-topped hills. This tour takes travellers on a nine-night adventure through Beijing, Xian, Suzhou and Shanghai, mixing the old with the new and leaving plenty of free time for independent exploration and optional tours.
The Itinerary
Day 1: Beijing (no meals)
- Arrive in Beijing and get transferred to the hotel
- Enjoy leisure time for the rest of the day
Day 2: Beijing (breakfast)
- Relax or explore Beijing on your own
- Alternatively, take part in the optional tours:
- Tiananmen Square night drive & dinner: US$65 per person * Summer Palace & Bird’s Nest: US$45 per person
Day 3: Beijing (breakfast)
- Head out to visit the Great Wall stretching 5,500 miles across China like a royal dragon
- Afterwards, make a stop at a jade factory to get more insight into the jade industry so cherished throughout China
- Finish the day off with learning about traditional Chinese medicine at Chinese Herbal Institute
- Optional tours:
- Golden Mask Dynasty show: US$45 per person
Day 4: Beijing - Xian (breakfast)
- Make the most of some leisure time in the morning to relax, do some souvenir shopping or exploring the city a bit before taking a bullet train or flight to Xian
- Optional tour:

Day 5: Xian (breakfast and lunch)
- Venture out in the morning to see the famous Terracotta Warriors, an imposing collection of life-size sculptures in battle formations representing the troops of Emperor Qin Shi Huang
- Visit the Xian Museum later on

Day 6: Xian - Wuxi or Shanghai - Suzhou (breakfast)
- Explore Xian on your own in the morning
- Then, be transferred to the airport for a flight to Suzhou via Wuxi or Shanghai OR take a bullet train to Wuxi

Day 7: Suzhou (breakfast)
- Visit the Qing-style Lingering Garden in Suzhou, one of China’s best-known gardens
- Afterwards, head to the Silk Factory to learn more about the fabric’s story and production

Day 8: Suzhou - Wuxi - Shanghai (breakfast)
- Head to Wuxi, making a stop at Li Lake en route
- Upon arrival, get some insight into the precious world of pearls at the Pearl Factory and visit the 88-metre-tall standing Big Buddha known as the Lingshan Grand Buddha, the world’s tallest open-air bronze statue
- Head to Shanghai
- Optional tour:

Day 9: Shanghai (breakfast)
- Visit the Shanghai Museum and take advantage of leisure time to explore the city as you please
