Imperial Cities Tour
Itinerary
Day 1 - Tuesday: Marrakech - Casablanca (250 km)
- Departure to Casablanca.
- Upon arrival, visit of the economic capital of Morocco: the central market, the Habous district, the Royal Palace, the Mohamed V square, the residential area of Anfa and the exterior of the Hassan II Mosque .
- Optional: Fish lunch at restaurant.
- Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 2 - Wednesday: Rabat - Meknes - Fez (220 km)
- Breakfast and departure to Rabat.
- Visit of the administrative capital of the country: the Royal Palace, (Mechouar), the Oudaya Kasbah, the Mohamed V mausoleum, the Hassan Tower.
- Departure to Meknes
- Optional: Lunch at a typical Moroccan Restaurant
- Visit of the Ismalian capital famous for its 40 km long walls, visit of the Bab Mansour, the Royal stables and the Jewish quarter.
- Continue to the holy city of Moulay Idriss, and visit of the ruins of the Roman city of Volubilis.
- Continue to Fez.
- Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 3 – Thursday: Fez
- Whole day devoted to city-sightseeing of Fez, the spiritual capital of Morocco: the medieval Medina with its Attarine and Bouanania Medersas, the Nejjarine fountain, the Moulay Idriss mausoleum, and the Karaouine mosque.
- Optional: Moroccan lunch at a traditional restaurant in the Medina.
- Afternoon, visit of Fez Jdid (new city).
- Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 4 - Friday: Beni Mellal - Marrakech (485 km)
- Departure to Marrakesh via Meknes, Adaroch passing by farm of husbandry cows, Mrirerts, Khenifra.
- Optional: Lunch and a moment of relaxation in Beni Mellal, one of the agricultural centres of Morocco.
- Arrival in Marrakech in the late afternoon. End of tour.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Tuesday: Marrakech - Kasbah Telouet - Kasbah Ait Benhadou Ouarzazate (220 km)
- Departure by 4WD to Ouarzazate via the mountains of the high Atlas passing through the Tich’n’Tichka pass at an altitude of 2260 m, via Telouet.
- Visit of the Kasbah of Telouet, former residence of the Glaoui family, one of the most influential families of this region.
- Optional lunch, and visit of Kasbah Ait Benhadou. This kasbah is the most famous one in Morocco and has served as setting for many famous movies, now a UNESCO protected monument.
- Short visit of Ouarzazate including the Kasbah of Taourirt.
- Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 2 - Wednesday: Ouarzazate - Tineghir - Erfoud - Merzouga (400 km)
- After Breakfast, road to Boumalne and EL Kelâa via the road of the thousand Kasbahs, passing by Skoura.
- On the way, pass the Kasbah of Amerhidel, visit of Canyon Dades and continue to Tinghir, famous for its Todra canyons whose rocks reach an altitude of 250 meters.
- Excursion to the canyons and possibility for a short hike.
- Optional: Lunch at a restaurant situated at the foot of the canyons.
- Continue through the track road to Erfoud and Merzouga.
- Dinner and accommodation in Merzouga, in desert tents.
Day 3 – Thursday: Merzouga - Alnif - Zagora (310 km)
- Early morning, a short walk to see the sunrise over the sand-dunes of Merzouga, then back to the camp for breakfast and Departure to Zagora, via the village of Rissani, birthplace of the present Alaouites Dynasty.
- Continue to Alnif, a small Berber village, for optional lunch.
- Continue to Zagora via Tazzarine and Taghbalt.
- Excursion to Tamegroute, visit of the famous library containing an impressive collection of old Manuscripts and documents dating from the 12th century.
- Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 4 – Friday: Zagora - Ouarzazate - Marrakech (360 km)
- After Breakfast, road to Marrakech, From Agdz, head forward on the track road leading through numerous villages and palm groves along the Drâa river before heading to Ouarazzate.
- Optional lunch.
- Continue via the Tizin ’tichka pass, to Marrakesh. End of tour.
