Boath House Hotel
Located on Scotland’s north east Moray coast, the Boath House Hotel is a Grade A listed Georgian mansion set in 22 acres of highland scenery with ornamental lake, streams, parkland and walled gardens. This family-run country house sits a short drive from Nairn and local golf clubs, and offers the opportunity to enjoy horse riding, boat trips, shooting and fishing.
The rooms are traditionally decorated, some with parquet flooring, others with carpets and matching drapes, walk-in shower or rolled top bath, while modern amenities such as flat-screen TV and hot drink-making facilities are present throughout.
The restaurant boasts 4 AA Rosettes and a Michelin Star and puts emphasis on seasonal ingredients, using organic fruit, herbs and vegetables from the hotel kitchen’s gardens and honey from their own bee hives to create imaginative dishes.
The Boath House Hotel ranks 4.5 out of 5 on Tripadvisor from a total of 261 reviews and holds a Certificate of Excellence. Details verified 04/04/2016. Learn more about Groupon’s Merchant Reviews Policy.
Groupon’s Guide to the Scottish Highlands
Guests may go rambling around lakes and hillsides, or trek the known routes in Beinn Eighe nature reserve, near Kinlochewe. Walking aside, many fishing areas and golf courses are dotted around the area for more conventional activities.
Visitors may explore the great outdoors, taking to Loch Linnhe with a boat ride out to Seal Island for a nature-spotting trip. They may keep eyes peeled for herons and seals, with the odd porpoise known to sometimes make an appearance. Travellers may head north toward Fort William and find throat-warming ventures in the Ben Nevis Distillery at Lochybridge. Further afield, potentially snowy peaks can be sought on Glencoe Mountain, and visitors may even get a whizz on the ski slopes.
