The Tour

The nine-day Glimpse of China Tour introduces visitors to some of China’s star attractions like the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City, as well as some of its lesser known marvels, for an enthralling glimpse of China’s ancient and modern cultures. Explorers of the Orient embark upon a journey through a country that has long held the interest and awe of individuals worldwide. Invitingly open to tourists, China offers those who traverse its trails an insight into its existence, both in the past and the present. With days spent exploring the local culture, food and historical attractions that lie in locations such as Beijing, Shanghai and Suzhou, the Glimpse of China Tour provides travellers with a whirlwind exposé of this rich landscape; from its majestic natural sceneries to its booming cityscapes.

The Hotels

Guests will be accommodated in contemporary hotels which offers spacious en suite rooms fitted with complimentary Wi-Fi connection and TVs.

Itinerary

Day One: Beijing

  • Arrive in Beijing and meet your tour guide before being transferred to the hotel.
  • Spend the rest of the day at your own leisure.

Day Two: Beijing

  • Photo stop at the National Grand Theatre and visit Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and Summer Palace and Chairman Mao’s monument.
  • The tour will show travellers the grounds of Tian’anmen Tower and the Great Hall of the People.
  • Stop at the Diamond Center before heading to the Wangfujing Street, one of the famous local snack streets and night market.
  • Meals: Breakfast and lunch

Day Three: Beijing

  • Start the morning with a trip to the Great Wall of China, the greatest symbol of ancient Chinese engineering.
  • Lunch of peking duck.
  • Photo stop at the two iconic Olympic games venues;
  • The Bird’s Nest and The Water Cube alsa known as the National Aquatics Centre.
  • The tour heads to China’s most famous Chinese medicine shop, Tongrentang.
  • Enjoy a foot massage after dinner.
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day Four: Bullet train to Nanjing

  • Take a high speed bullet train to Xuanwu Lake to see Purple Mountain and the Ming dynasty city wall from afar.
  • Enjoy a tour of Dr.Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum before heading to Confucius Temple.
  • Tonight’s dinner will be salted duck.
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day Five: Nanjing to Wuxi

  • Head to the Yangtze River Bridge in the morning.
  • Listen in the Guiness Book World Record, it is the longest bridge with the dual functions of a highway and railway.
  • The tour heads to Crystal Inner Paining and a stop at the Jade Museum followed by Huaiyang flavor at lunch.
  • Visit Yuantouzhu Park next to Taihu Lake
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day Six: Wuxi to Suzhou

  • A morning visit to Liyuan Garden followed by a trip a teapot factory and the Pearl Centre in Wuxi.
  • The tour heads to Suzhou, often referred to as the Venice of the East.
  • Visit The Lion Forest Garden and a tour of Pingjiang road.
  • End the day with a cruise on the ancient canal
  • Meals: Breakfast and lunch

Day Seven: Suzhou to Hangzhou

  • Visit a silk factory in the morning before heading Hangzhou.
  • Here travellers enjoy a cruise on the West Lake and end the day with a dance performance called Night of the West Lake.
  • Meals: Breakfast and lunch

Day Eight: Hangzhou to Shanghai

  • In the morning visit the Longjing Tea Plantation followed by a transfer to Shanghai.
  • Here the tour visits Chenhuang Temple old street, Xintiandi, and a jewellery shop.
  • After dinner, travellers are treated to a Huangpu River Cruise
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day Nine: Shanghai to Home

  • Transfer to the hotel for your flight back home
  • Meals: Breakfast

Price per person (pp) based on double occupancy. You must buy 2 vouchers min. to complete booking. If you want to travel alone, single supplements will apply based on the departure date and time. Apply direct to agent at time of booking.

Confirmations will be sent out within 7 working days from the days the booking is complete with the agent. All bookings/validating of Groupons must be made within 7 days of purchase - or else Groupon is no longer refundable.
No modification or cancellation allowed after booking confirmation. Bookings are non-transferable once confirmed.
