Cologne Christmas Market Trip
Coach Innovations invites holidaymakers to embark on a festive coach and ferry adventure outside the borders of the UK to visit Cologne and its sparkling Christmas markets.
Designed to leave customers with plenty of leisure time on their hands, the trip allows them to search out a choice of seasonal markets, including the Cathedral Christmas Market, dotted with a profusion carved wooden stalls, and the Angel’s Christmas Market, organized at Neumarkt, famed for being the city’s oldest Christmas market.
For a maritime twist, customers can head to the Harbour Christmas Market, on the banks of the Rhine, and for an unbeatable traditional feel, they can peruse the stalls in from of Cologne´s town hall at the Old Christmas Market.
More to see and to sample can be found in the Village of St Nicholas, enveloped in the historical magic of the medieval Hahnentorburg, and for a romantic feel there’s no better place to be than the Christmas Market in the Stadtgarten, organised in the Belgian Quarter.
The old city of Cologne can be crisscrossed aboard the Christmas Market Express, a suitable choice for customers who want to reach directly to the city’s traditional installments, whereas the Bermuda Triangle on the Christmas Avenue makes room for the pink and purple stalls of the same sex Christmas Markets.
Itinerary
Day 1:
- Departure from customer’s chosen pick up points and travel to the port of Dover
- Short break in Dover before boarding the ferry to France
- Once aboard, customers can explore the bars, restaurants and shops at leisure
Day 2:
- Lights out once in France: guests can snuggle down as the coach continues the journey through Belgium, crossing the German Border at Aachen
- 45-minute break at Aachen, during which customers can have breakfast or have a wash and brush up before resuming the trip to Cologne
- Arrival in Cologne at approx. 10.30am.
- For the rest of the day, customers are free to search out the 7 Christmas markets Cologne is famed for, embark on a Rhine cruise or go sightseeing as they see fit
- Departure from Cologne at 10pm: guests can snuggle down while the coach travels back for an early morning cross channel ferry back to England
Day 3:
- Arrival back in the UK (Dover) at approx. 7am
- Transfer to and drop off at customer’s selected points
