The Castle

A 15th century baronial castle equidistant between Gretna and Dumfries, Comlongon Castle transports guests back to the medieval ages, coupled with a selection of cosy luxuries. The hotel is a 15-minute drive from Gretna Green, the marriage capital of the UK, where sights include the famous Blacksmiths Shop, where couples have tied the knot since 1754, and The Kissing Gate. In the opposite direction, Dumfries, known as the ‘Queen of the South’ abounds with traditional Scottish character, historic buildings and a mix of restaurants.

• Each of the 11 suites features a grand four-poster bed, as well as en suite facilities. Individually themed and decorated, the rooms also come with tea and coffee making facilities, digital flat screen TV and complimentary Wi-Fi.
