The Hotel
Surrounded by lush, well-tended garden, Heronissos Hotel is within a walking distance from many beaches, including pebble and sand styles. With Heraklion City only a short drive away, it makes for a great base from which to explore the island. Nearby attractions include Aquaworld Aquarium, Reptile Rescue Centre and Lixnostatis Folk Museum.
Each with its own private balcony, air-conditioned rooms come with views over the pool, mountains or the Cretan Sea itself, ensuring guests can keep the island in mind at all times. Spacious and well-lit, all rooms come with seating areas with flat-screen TVs connected to satellite channels and mini fridges to keep snacks and drinks cool at all times. En-suite bathrooms are available for extra privacy and room service is available for those tired of eating out.

Ramblers may take to the coastal walking routes and gorge scrambles spread across this island or soak up the sun on Crete’s famous Stavros beach. Tourists may experience a blend of rich history and culture portrayed in traditional cuisine, and bars that buzz long into the night. The Greek island of Crete features a temperate Mediterranean climate with little variation in weather. Summer lasts from June to September and sees average highs in the mid-20s, peaking just below 30ºC in July and August. Nighttime temperatures are very high, but bearable due to the low levels of humidity. In October and November, autumn still sees great temperatures but is often wet and overcast, making this season suitable for travellers to explore the island rather than sunbathing on the beach.

Transportation details:
Valid for flights from Lodon Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh to Heraklion Airport N. Kazantzakis (HER).
Travel documents to be received up to 1 day before departure. You must go with your boarding pass printed to the airport, at the risk of having to pay additional charges.
