Pairs of wannabe sleuths can put their detective skills to the test with a murder mystery stay. Investigators can embark on a quest to solve the mystery and discover the killer, with a three-course evening meal included. The experience is rounded off with an overnight stay in one of the hotel’s classic double or twin rooms, with breakfast the next morning. Room upgrades can be provided subject to availability, with customers asked to contact the merchant directly for additional details.

Originally dating back to 1322, the four star Down Hall Country House Hotel enjoys a rural location on the borders of Essex and Hertfordshire. Inside, decor has a distinct Italianate theme complete with ornate ceilings, while rooms in the historic main building are equipped with en suite bathrooms, tea and coffee making facilities and complimentary Wi-Fi access. Two tennis courts are available alongside recently-added gym facilities with a host of strength and cardio equipment, free weights, and exercise balls. Contemporary dining experiences are available in the Grill Room, in addition to afternoon teas in the lounge, and pre- or post-dinner tipples in the Cocktail Bar.
