The Hotel
Set in a leafy part of the city, a simple half-hour tramway ride from the Old Town or Kazimierz, the four-star Hotel Metropolo By Golden Tulip entices guests with its stylish contemporary interiors with nods to Art Deco with Chinese overtones. Travellers can start their day with an energising workout at the onsite gym and relax in a sauna after a busy day. All rooms are air-conditioned and come with TVs, minibars and en suite bathrooms. The onsite restaurant carries the theme forward, treating guests to an array of Chinese cuisine specialities.
The Tour
Visit KL Auschwitz I and II concentration camps and learn about the atrocities of the Nazis and their Final Solution plan. KL Auschwitz was the biggest Nazi concentration and death camp in German-occupied Europe. The Auschwitz Memorial Museum (founded in 1947) was added to UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1979. The journey to Auschwitz takes over an hour, during this time travellers will get the chance to see a documentary depicting the history of the camp. Upon arrival, visitors will have a 15-min break before the tour commences. The tour comprises both parts of the former concentration camp, Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau. Approximately one and a half hours will be dedicated to Auschwitz I and the same amount of time will be spent at Auschwitz II-Birkenau. After the tour, participants will return to Krakow.
