The Castle
A drive through the gate house lodge, past a forest and over an open carriage way brings guests to the Grade I-listed Peckforton Castle, a site with over 130 years’ history between its walls. Built in the mid-19th century using the template of a medieval castle, the building has been through many guises, first as a family home, then a hostel during World War II, and now as a luxury hotel.
Marrying together contemporary décor with original historical features, the castle provides an indulgent escape away from city life, nestled within the Cheshire countryside. Around 30 minutes in the car from Chester and just over an hour from the Peak District, the hotel is well located for exploration further afield.
-
Each of the 48 rooms are individually designed, with single, double and four-poster rooms available alongside suites, and a lodge. Pairs will settle down in a choice of double or twin room, featuring en suite facilities, a flat-screen TV and a hospitality tray. An upgrade to an executive room is available for a £20 surcharge.
-
Hunger can be sated in either of the on-site restaurants: the 1851 restaurant which has been been awarded three AA Rosettes, and the 2010 brasserie, found in the former scullery of the Castle, oozing with contemporary style.
-
Guests can enjoy 15% off spa treatments, which range from waxing services to facials, wraps and massages. Those spending £60 or more on treatments will have access to the spa facilities, including a jacuzzi, sauna and shower experience.
