The Experience
Groupies are invited to explore the fascinating heritage of Peru. Take a 7-day challenge and adventure tour to walk and bike along the Inca Trail or opt for a more relaxed 14-day itinerary, featuring the city of Arequipa, the Colca Canyon and the Titicaca Lake. Both routes also feature the foremost gems of the ancient Inca empire: the city of Cusco and the stunning Machu Picchu. Travellers will be taken care of by professional guides and accommodated in friendly hostels and hotels.
7-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco
- Arrive in Cusco and take a rest, adjusting to the altitude
Day 2: Cusco
- Enjoy a city tour of the remarkable UNESCO-listed historic centre
- Drive into the countryside to see the ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Qenko, Tambomachay, and Pukapukara
Day 3: Cusco
- Enjoy a leisure day in Cusco
Day 4: Cusco – Santa Maria
- Drive early morning through the Sacred Valley to arrive to where the biking trail begins
- Seize the break halfway down, in Alfamayo, with a hearty lunch and stunning views
- On arrival in Santa Maria, kick back or opt for an additional rafting experience ($50 surcharge)
- Enjoy a dinner with the group
Day 5: Santa Maria – Santa Teresa
- Rise up early morning to hike towards Santa Rosa and further along the thrill-inducing Inca Trail
- Enjoy the lunch in Qellomayo village
- Walk along the Vilcanota River to reach the springs of Colcamayo
Day 6: Aguas Calientes
- Descend to the point called “Hidroeléctrica” for the lunch
- Take a scenic walk towards Aguas Calientes, located at the foot of Machu Picchu
Day 7: Machu Picchu – Ollanttaytambo – Cusco
- After the early morning breakfast, take a bus to Machu Picchu and enjoy the 3-hour city tour
- Continue exploring the city at own pace or join a group climbing Huayna Picchu
- Around 1pm, head down towards Aguas Calientes for lunch, before taking a return train to Cusco

- Explore the spiritual centre of the Inca empire. Visit the Pisac ruins and the Ollantaytambo fortress as well as the artisanal markets nearby
- Take the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes
Day 6: Machu Picchu – Ollanttaytambo – Cusco (breakfast)
- Take a bus to Machu Picchu and enjoy the city tour
- Continue exploring the city at own pace or join a group climbing Huayna Picchu
- Board the transfer bus before taking a return train to Cusco
Day 7: Arrival to Arequipa (breakfast)
- Arrive in the hotel and explore the city at own pace

- Explore Arequipa on a guided city tour, featuring San Ignacio Chapel, the Basilica Cathedral, and the Santa Catalina Monastery before reaching the hilltops to catch the city panorama.
Day 10: Colca Canyon Tour (breakfast, lunch)
- Drive past the Chachani and Misti volcanoes towards the Colca Canyon
- Stop at Pampa Cañahuas to observe wild vicuñas and then at Pata Wasi for a cup of traditional ‘‘mate de coca’’ tea.
- Arrive at the Patapampa overlook (4,820 meters) and enjoy the sweeping views
Day 11: Cruz del Condor (breakfast, lunch)
- Drive to Cruz del Condor to observe the majestic birds
- Return to Chivay for lunch (not included) before diving to Puno
Day 12: Titicaca Lake (breakfast, lunch)
- Take the bus and enjoy the tour featuring the floating Islands of Uros and the Amantani Island
- Stay and dine with a local family
Day 13: Titicaca Lake (breakfast, lunch)
- Visit Taquile Island by boat
- Lunch at a restaurant
- Return to Puno in the afternoon
Day 14: Puno – Lima (breakfast)
- Take a transfer to the airport in Juliaca for a flight to Lima
