The Inn
Offering views to the Black Mountains and on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, The Hollybush Inn makes for an ideal starting base to explore the likes of the River Wye and the rolling hills and picturesque footpaths ambling towards Hay-on-Wye. Holidaymakers can make most of the outdoors of Wales with activities ranging from gorge walking, raft building and wild swimming to canoeing or the simple pleasure of gathering around a campfire.
Guests can unwind in rustic-style rooms which come complete with hot drink-making facilities, TVs with Freeview, and en suite bathroom amenities.
Appetites can be catered for with a wide selection of dishes ranging from meat and fish dishes to vegan and gluten free options.

From the ancient limestone caves to the grand Pen y Fan and Cribyn peaks, the Brecon Beacons National Park provides visitors with a suitable place to enjoy an active holiday in the middle of nature.
In the heather-clad mountains of the Brecon Beacons, travellers may enjoy scenic walking routes, mountain biking and horse riding trails, while characterful towns, pubs and farmers’ markets are also on hand for shopping and dining opportunities. The park is also home to the ruins of many ancient fortresses such as Carreg Cennen, and the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal where boat trips and canoe hires allow ramblers to take to the water. On clear nights, travellers may have a privileged view of distant planets or meteor showers with frequent star gazing events organised by the National Park Authority.

Canoe hire: canoe hire is based on 2 people per canoe and is for 1 day only. Up to 2 additional children under 15 years old allowed at an additional cost of £7.50 per child; payable to the property directly. Extra canoe hire is available at normal rates, please enquire when booking. Canoe trips are from Monday to Friday and can be taken on day of leaving. Guest have the choice of 3 mile or 8 mile trip down the river; launch time is strictly 9.45am. Canoe trip is unsupervised. Guests will be picked up after they have finished the canoe trip, of either 3 mile trip to Hay on Wye or 8 miles to Whitney; maps are given with destination pick-up points. No pick up later than 4pm. In cold weather or winter season, a wetsuit must be worn, if you do not have one they can be hired for £5 per person. If the river conditions are considered unsafe for canoes, an alternative route on the Brecon and Monmouth Canals will be offered.
This option incurs an additional charge of 0.80p per mile. The canoe trip can also be rescheduled for another day.
