The Hotel

The Sidings is a conceptual hotel designed to celebrate the romantic heritage of classic 20th century rail travel. Built exclusively from vintage Pullman-style railway carriages and overlooking the York to Thirsk run. Retaining a sharp focus on the fine quality fittings of pre-1960 steam rail, guests will be greeted by a decor of stained wood, fine, polished metal-work and linen tablecloths. The quiet location is an enthusiast’s covert for genuine artefacts and memorabilia.

• Guest rooms are converted original Pullman carriages with en suite bathrooms. Each room includes tea and coffee making facilities, a television and a hairdryer.

• The restaurant offer an extensive food and wine menu. Part of the carriages have been converted into a dining area which allows tables of four to overlook the track.

• The spacious conservatory allows guests to sit and enjoy the panoramic views of the open Yorkshire countryside.
