Groupon’s Guide To Bucharest
A vibrant city on the banks of the Dâmbovița River, Bucharest is the Romanian capital and has been dubbed the ‘Little Paris’ as it boasts Belle Époque architecture as well as a wealth of high-end shopping centres and quality restaurants.
Bucharest entices visitors with an array of cultural attractions such as the largest civilian building with an administrative function in the world, Ceausescu’s Palace of the Parliament. Tourists may stroll along the Parisian-style boulevards and visit the city’s own Triumphal Arch, an alabaster miniature of its French brother. The Revolution Square is the site where the 1989 revolution took place and is surrounded by imposing buildings such as the Romanian Athenaeum. A vast number of parks including the Cismigiu Gardens provide a setting for wistful wanders, while venturing to the city’s outskirts brings travellers amid a burgeoning selection of vineyards.
