The Safaris

• The all-in game drive safaris operate twice a day in open 4x4 vehicles with experienced rangers that help guests discover the richness and complexity of African wildlife.

• The morning safari drive starts at approximately 6am and includes a coffee break near one of the reserve’s twenty lakes for a chance to observe hippos and different bird species.

• Afternoon drive starts at approximately 4pm and lasts until early evening, a prime time to see lions and leopards on their nocturnal hunts.

Situated half way between the Orpen and Phalaborwa gates of the Kruger National Park, the bush town of Hoedspruit meets endless plains or marula, acacia, combretum and mopane woodlands. Just outside the town, the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate attracts visitors with a reptile park where black and green mambas or cobras can be seen, a rehabilitation centre for injured animals, horse safaris and many more activities. Established in 1898 in order to protect the South African Lowveld wildlife, Kruger National Park is unrivalled in the number of biodiversity it withholds in its nearly 2 million hectares of land. Famous attractions include the Crocodile River view point and the restored Iron Age village of Masorini, a short drive from Phalaborwa gate.
