The Experience
Indulging in a seasonal escape, visitors will get wrapped in the historic market tradition with candles, Christmas trees, and a warm atmosphere. Enveloped in Yuletide spirit and winter cheer, Warsaw springs a traditional Christmas market bubbling over with crafts, trinkets, rich mulled wine, carols and parades.
The Christmas Market takes place next to the Castle Square, presided over by a tree that sparkles with thousands of lights. Snow-covered wooden stalls offer a variety of decorations, gifts, toys and snacks. The good old-fashioned hand-painted glass baubles remain a Polish specialty during the season, but the market showcases an array of other handicrafts including pottery, embroidery and metalwork, as well as wooden sculptures and paintings on glass. Visitors can snack on multicoloured candies, traditional gingerbread and spiced nuts or savour hot traditional dishes served alfresco and help themselves to mulled wine, all while taking in the charm of the market. To bring the festive atmosphere even higher up, children and village ensembles perform carols echoing between the stalls. Not far from the market, the Old Town’s ice rink provides residents and visitors of all ages with a taste of one of childhood’s simple pleasures.
The Hotel
