Wisteria Frtuescens

This variety of common Wisteria is easily distinguished for its abundant flowering and its re-flourishing in the months of June and July. It bares flowers and bunches similar to the typical wisteria species, but fuller and more abundant. It begins flowering during the 1st or 2nd year. The Wisteria originated in countries such as China, Japan, Korea, and America. Not only will this rustic shrub withstand the toughest of winters but it is also gifted with a resistance to most pests and diseases. The branches of these exuberant plants twist around their support like a liana and will also grow on its own. This plant will fit most modern and traditional of gardens.

Alba White

This rarer white variety of wisteria is easily distinguished for its abundant flowering and its re-flourishing in the months of May, June and July. It bares flowers and bunches similar to the typical wisteria species, but white in colour instead of the regular lilac shades, and more abundant.

Rosea Pink

This rare Japanese twining vine is awesome in springtime as it leafs out and flowers with large, drooping clusters of pink, fragrant flowers. The vine often climbs trees, and is most striking when seen in full bloom draped from the limbs of a high pine. Leaves consist of 7 to 13 leaflets of large size; after flowering, very attractive, velvety pods are produced, containing seed. Winter aspect is a snarled, tangled mass of naked vine. Wisteria is usually very long-lived, and trunks can become quite large. Vines are woody and tough.

Black Dragon Double Purple

Black Dragon or Yae-Kokuryu Wisteria is a special variety from Japan that also goes under the name ‘Violacea Plena’. It is a strong growing variety that is easy to look after, and possibly the most rewarding for its unique flowers. Very different from the commonly offered Wisteria varieties, Black Dragon carries long plumes of cascading flowers, each 1-2ft long in late spring and early summer. These double blossoms are highly fragranced with a spicy undertone and dark purple in colour. Like all other Wisterias, this is a grafted plant, so will start flowering at a young age.
