Fright Night

All things spooky await thrill-seekers at Colchester Zoo, where ghosts and witches have been summoned for Fright Night. Visitors will be able to board the Train of Terror and witness the horrifying consequences of a chemical spillage, visit the Hotel of Hell, or dare to walk through the elephant paddock, where a deadly virus has taken over the jungle. Shriek Week attractions will also be available, with a ghoul hunt, magic potions class with coven witches, a haunted mansion tour and Merlin’s Halloween party to choose from.

Colchester Zoo

Creatures of the world are brought together in all shapes and sizes across 60 acres of scenic parkland and lakes at Colchester Zoo. With over 270 species, there’s areas for bears, aardvarks, grey wolves, elephants, Komodo dragons and many others. Big cats such as leopards, cheetahs, tigers and lions are also among the animals at Colchester Zoo, as well as orangutans. Animals from closer to home also make an appearance, with farmyard friends such as horses, goats, pigs and chickens, not to mention llamas and alpacas. There’s more fun to be had over at the Discovery Centre with plenty of educational activities, and the site also features play areas for kids including the undercover soft play complex Jungle Tumble. Those in search of refreshment can stop by a number of food outlets.
