The Event
Classic entertainment from the u-s-of-a comes to the Drumcoura Lake Resort on Saturday 6 September. A line up of diverse perfomances includes a demo from the all-Ireland line dancing champions, 1994 Eurovision winner Charlie McGettigan, Garth Brooks tribute musician Trevor Smith, Mike Denver, and a Western horse show with lasooing and barrel racing. An indoor dance floor will let everyone shake it to the tunes, or they can head to the car show to see some classic and modern vehicles. Young ones can transform themselves in face painting, jump on a bouncy castle and scavenge in the Wild West treasure hunt, and adventurers of all ages can tackle the bucking bronco. There’ll be prizes for the best-dressed cowboy and girl, and an art show will display Native American drawings. Guests can sate their appetite at the barbecue, pig-on-a-spit and Tex-Mex restaurant, and sip some drinks at the Western-themed bar. Under 12s can enter free with a paying adult, and the festival starts at midday.
