Derby Concert Orchestra
Festive cheer abounds as Derby Concert Orchestra presents a family-friendly evening of music at the city’s newly refurbished cathedral. The orchestra was founded in 1949 and will perform Shostakovich’s Festive Overture, Glinka’s Ruslan and Ludmila as well as music from the Pirates of The Caribbean and Star Wars. The orchestra will also perform Mussorgsky’s A Night on the Bare Mountain, Grieg’s in the Hall of the Mountain King from the BBC’s Ten Pieces, and plenty of Christmas carols and music to get visitors in the festive mood.
