As hard as it is to believe, 50 years will soon have passed since David Bowie released The Man Who Sold the World, his third studio album. To mark the occasion, fans in Hull can celebrate the artist’s legacy while enjoying some of the greatest Bowie hits released between 1969 and 1973, including The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and Spiders from Mars. With Bowie’s drummer and Spider Man from Mars, Woody Woodmansey, and Tony Visconti, who played bass on The Man Who Sold the World, the event will recreate the Bowie experience as closely as possible without Bowie himself. The vocals will be delivered by Heaven 17’s Glenn Gregory, who performed alongside Bowie on the original Band Aid single in 1984.
