The Event

The Footman James Sywell Classic: Pistons & Props celebrates classic motoring on the ground and in the air with a cavalcade of machines. Visitors can watch live action on the racing runway and sprint strip, with an array of Formula 1 cars, Group B rally cars, hot rods, dragsters and motorcycles all on show. There’ll be a Battle of Britain memorial flight with a Hurricane, Lancaster and Spitfire flying overhead, as well as breathtaking aerial acrobatics from the Breitling Wingwalkers and World War One dogfight display team. Swing jive band The One Eyed Cats will make their Sywell debut with performances throughout the weekend, and Saturday night sees The New Dreamers featuring former Bay City Roller Tommy Cunningham get the party started. In addition, there’ll be a shopping village and plenty of family entertainment at a vintage fun fair.
