The Tour
The Ghost Bus Tour journeys into the darker side of Edinburgh with a combination of humour, horror and history. The city’s streets hold historical tales involving grave robbers, murderers and hauntings. Daring passengers will climb aboard a reportedly haunted 1960s Routemaster bus with an eerie backstory, for a tour of renowned sites including Edinburgh Castle, the New Town, Grassmarket, Greyfriar’s Kirk, the Old Town, Holyrood Palace and the Royal Mile. After setting off from Chambers Street, the creepy conductor will recount nefarious tales of ethereal beings, Burke and Hare and the many ill-fated women who were drowned or burned as witches. Tickets (usually £16 each) are accompanied by a guidebook (£4), and sightseers can expect some ominous activity aboard the bus, too.
