The Event
The Pumpkin Patch and Spook Fest features a creepy collection of entertainment suitable for intrepid explorers both young and old. Families of five can skulk around the haunted house complete with creaking corridors and dark surprises, take part in a scavenger hunt in a cemetery-themed field, journey into a forbidden forest on a wagon ride, and try to escape a maze. Costumed actors will help add a sense of realism to activities, and gangs can take breaks from their exertions to sit down for story-time sessions held throughout the day. Visitors can kit themselves out in ghoulish garb to try and win the fancy dress competition, and browse the outfits and toys at the Halloween store. The day runs from 10.30am to 4.30pm on selected dates between 4 and 19 October, and under-2s get in free.
The Farm
A third-generation family-run venue, Tulleys Farm offers a wealth of entertainment in the heart of the Sussex countryside. Seasonal events include a summer puzzle park, Halloween festivals and Christmas sleigh rides, with arts and crafts markets running throughout the year. An animal patch features a collection of furry friends, and adjacent to it is a tea room set in converted Victorian stables. The farm can also be hired out for weddings and corporate events complete with a dedicated management team. It’s equidistant between London and Brighton, and is within 20 minutes’ drive of Gatwick Airport.
