The Deal
During a 60-minute lesson (usually £16.50), aspiring equestrians can learn riding essentials under the tuition of a seasoned instructor. Tutors aim to build each pupil’s confidence atop their steed in a safe environment, and conduct lessons in groups of up to eight pupils of a similar riding ability. Each participant receives a fetching two-tier rosette to take home (£2.50) while riding hats can be hired for £2 each.

The Merchant
The family-run Glen Jakes Riding School caters to all manner of equestrian pursuit, including lessons, hacks and walkouts for individuals and groups. The school also offers riding certificates, tuition in jumping and competitive riding, and courses in stable management and pony keeping. The site regularly hosts children’s parties, seasonally themed events and competitions.

Restrictions: Valid Tue-Fri 4pm-9pm. Must be 4 or older. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. New customers only. Max. weight 15st. Registration form must be completed prior to lesson, www.gjrs.co.uk/images/riderregistrationform.pdf. £2 surcharge for hat hire, if providing own it must adhere to British safety standards.
