About Pencarrow House and Gardens

Situated at the bottom of a valley between Bodmin and Wadebridge, Pencarrow House and Gardens is a large Georgian estate owned by the Molesworth family since the late 1500's. Having undergone various refurbishments, the mansion opened its doors to the public in the 1970's and is now a tourist hotspot, ideal for a family day out and history buffs alike. The property is ornately decorated and houses a number of artworks and antiques, including the Ch’ien Lung 'famille rose' bowl, known as the Pencarrow Bowl. The estate is surrounded by tranquil Grade II-listed gardens, containing over many varieties of camellias and rhododendrons, woodlands walks and an Italian garden. Visitors can make the most of the on-site cafe, gift and plant shop, and couples can even wed within the grounds.
