DAY 2: PALERMO - AGRIGENTO

Meals at leisure and overnight stay in the area of Agrigento.
Dinner at leisure and overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 3: AGRIGENTO - SYRACUSE
Breakfast, then set off for the Syracuse area!
Suggested itinerary: In the afternoon, you will discover this ancient Greek colony, part of our worldwide heritage and a UNESCO site. The archaeological area dates back to the 5th century BC, with the Greek theatre, the Roman amphitheatre, the altar of Hiero II and the Latomia del Paradiso.
Then, head to the historical centre of the island of Ortigia, the temple of Apollo and the Duomo, a historically important baroque church founded on an ancient temple and the Fountain of Arethusa.
Time allowing, we recommend that you press on to Noto, the capital of Sicilian Baroque, also known as the Garden of Stones. You can admire the beauty of the churches, the convent of Santa Chiara and the cathedral destroyed by the earthquakes and then magnificently rebuilt.
Dinner at leisure and overnight stay at the hotel in the Syracuse area.
DAY 4: SYRACUS - RAGUSA MODICA - SYRACUSE
Breakfast, lunch and day at leisure.
Suggested itinerary: another intense day discovering the final flowering of Baroque art in Europe!
The towns of Ragusa and Modica were destroyed by a terrible earthquake in 1693, which radically changed the typography of Sicily as all the towns were rebuilt according to the principles of late Baroque.
Visit to Ragusa Ibla, one of Italy's most significant art cities thanks to its wealth of artistic and archaeological treasures.
Then, press on towards Modica; the city is famous for its churches and its cathedral but it is also the Italian capital of chocolate!
Dinner at leisure and overnight stay at the hotel in the Syracuse area.
DAY 5: TAORMINA - CATANIA
Breakfast, and set off to Catania.
Suggested itinerary: why not go up to Taormina! A marvel of a town, Taormina offers incredible views of the sea and Mount Etna...
Take time to stroll through the narrow streets and visit the Greek theatre.

Suggested itinerary: an action-packed day dedicated to discovering Mount Etna; you can get all the way up to 1,800 metres at the Sapienza refuge where the "crateri silvestri" craters are then visible. The plant life here is incredible as well as the splendid lunar landscapes all along the way. For centuries the volcano has shaped a unique location where nature, culture and history create a harmonious whole. You can take the cable car or 4X4 bus up to 2,800 metres.

Lunch at your leisure before heading to Monreale to visit the cathedral and the magnificent cloister, a masterpiece of Byzantine and Arab-Norman art.
Then, drive to Monte Pellegrino to discover the sanctuary of Santa Rosalia, the patron saint of Palermo. End the day with Mondello, where you can stroll and sample authentic Sicilian ice cream.
