DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN MOMBASA

On arrival at Mombasa airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

DAY 2: MOMBASA - TSAVAO EAST NATIONAL PARK (240 KMS/4H)

After breakfast, you will set off early in the morning on a private jeep safari in Tsavo East National Park, accompanied by an English-speaking driver-guide. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, after which you can relax. In the evening, you will go on a sunset safari.

DAY 3: TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK - AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK (280 KMS/4H)

Early in the morning, you will set off on a safari in the park, where you can experience the savannah in the early light of day. This will be followed by breakfast at the lodge. Afterwards, you will head to the second park of the day for lunch. If the weather permits, you may catch a glimpse of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro. After lunch, you will have some relaxation time before setting off in the afternoon for another safari. You will return to the camp before sunset.

DAY 4: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK - TAITA HILLS (280 KMS/4H30MINS)

Early in the morning, you will go on a safari to see the park's wildlife before having breakfast at the lodge. Next, you will head to Taita Hills National Park, a beautiful park surrounded by a lush mountain range of the same name. You will arrive in time for lunch. After some relaxation time, you will set off on the second safari of the day and enjoy the unique setting as you observe various animal species. Return to the camp before sunset.

DAY 5: TSAVO EAST - WATAMU BEACH (240 KMS/4H)

Wake up and set out on your final safari of the trip, and don't forget to take some photos to remember it by. Have breakfast at the camp before heading to Watamu Beach for your beach trip extension. The remainder of the day will be spent relaxing at your hotel.

DAY 6 AT 11: BEACH TRIP EXTENSION AT WATAMU BEACH

Enjoy your beach trip extension at Watamu Beach at the 5-star Hemingways hotel to discover the stunning beaches in this part of the country. You can make use of the hotel's facilities, such as the swimming pool and gym. Optional activities and guided tours are available at an additional cost, such as a boat trip to see dolphins.

During your seaside trip extension, you will have breakfast included.

DAY 12: WATAMU BEACH - MOMBASA - RETURN FLIGHT

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to Mombasa Airport in accordance with your flight return schedule.

Spacious and with easy access to the beach and the botanical pool, our ocean view rooms are found in the North Wing of the hotel on the ground and first floor. En-suite bathrooms and a beautiful balcony overlooking the Marine Park provide guests with the utmost comfort and luxury. The quiet grassy area in front of the rooms is a relaxing place to read and soak up the coastal sunshine.

There is something to everyone’s taste at Hemingways Watamu. Served in our main restaurant, breakfast offers a range of options to suit all types from the super hungry, the health conscious or the continental.

USEFUL INFORMATION

Arrival day and welcome: After exiting the plane, you will pass through immigration, where your visa will be checked. Then, you will collect your luggage. A local representative from the SawaSawa Africa agency will be waiting for you outside, wearing a uniform and holding a sign with your name on it.

Hotel-only package: If you have booked the 'hotel-only' package (without international flights), please provide your flight details as soon as possible via the contact form located under 'Help and Contact' at the bottom of the page. This will enable us to organise your transfers. Selected flights should arrive before noon on day 1 and depart after 6 p.m. on day 7, to allow you to enjoy the full range of services offered during the tour.

Please note that all accommodation is rated 4-star according to local standards. The services provided may not be equivalent to European 4-star standards.

The order of visits may be modified for logistical reasons.

Visa: All travellers heading to Kenya must possess an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) before entering the Republic of Kenya, including minors.

No traveller will be permitted to enter Kenya without a visa or ETA.

ETA processing takes 3 days or 72 hours, but may be shorter for nationals who were previously exempt.

Visas issued previously through the e-visa platform will still be honoured.

East African nationals are exempt from ETA requirements.

Children under 16 years old who were previously exempt from the visa requirement must now apply for an ETA.

Good to know

If you are travelling alone, you will be asked to pay a surcharge for a single room. This additional charge will be automatically included in your quote.

Child rates will be applied for children from 2 to 12 years old in the case where the child shares the room with two adults. If the child is travelling with just one adult, the surcharge may be applied on an adult basis. If your child or children do not fit into the age group mentioned above, the rate will be communicated to you at the time of processing your order. If the room is equipped with a bunk bed, the bed height is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.

For safety reasons, the wellbeing facilities of most establishments are not accessible to children under 16 years old. Similarly, it is possible that some amenities or services require an additional charge or are unavailable for exceptional reasons.

In order to best organise your time in the airport, we advise that you arrive 2 hours before boarding for a medium-haul flight, or 3 hours before boarding for a long-haul flight (more than 5 hours). Take advantage of your early arrival to pass through security and check your luggage.

You will have the opportunity to add additional luggage for a fee.

There are several different cities that are typically offered as departure points. Your arrival destination will show in your travel documents.

Depending on the flight schedule, some arrivals or returns may be made at night with early arrival or late departure. You will not always be able to have your room available immediately and will need to refer to the check-in and check-out conditions of the hotel.

In the event that your transfer is not included in your hotel reservation, it may be offered at the time of your reservation as an additional option. Unless specifically mentioned, transfers may be made in groups of 15 to 55 people.

IDENTITY

Please be sure to verify that your necessary Identification documents (passport and/or ID card dependent upon the country to which you will be travelling) have valid expiration dates, i.e. verify your ID documents have not yet expired. Also, be sure to remember to bring these necessary documents with you. It is also recommended to make copies of all travel documents in the event of an emergency.
