Your driver will collect you from your hotel and take you to the airport. Welcome by your English-speaking driver/guide at Calama Airport and private transfer to San Pedro de Atacama, approx. 1 hour 30 mins. In the afternoon, departure on an excursion to the Rainbow Valley. Return to your hotel after sunset. You are free to arrange your own meals

DAY 4 - SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA: ALTIPLANIC LAGOONS

Departure for the Miscanti and Miñiques altiplanic lagoons overlooking the two volcanoes of the same name. Enjoy a coffee break in this magical setting overlooking the volcanoes and lagoons. The guide will take the opportunity to tell you all about the geological formations of the Andes mountain range facing you. We then head south towards the Salar de Capur, the Salar de Talar, the Salar de Agua Calientes (salt flats), and the famous Red Stones, visiting a viewpoint offering breathtaking panoramic views. Further afield, close to the border with Argentina, we'll take you to discover the Tuyajto lagoon, where you'll have exclusive access to this exceptional environment. Picnic lunch included. The remainder of the day is devoted to the Salar de l'Atacama salt flats and, in particular, a visit to the Chaxa Lagoon. This natural pink flamingo reserve is the ideal spot to take some time to observe the unique birds. But it's also an opportunity to learn more about local biodiversity and gain an understanding of how flora and fauna survive in this extreme environment.

DAY 5 - SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA / CALAMA (FLIGHT) / SANTIAGO: TATIO GEYSERS

At around 6am, your English-speaking guide will meet you at your hotel and take you on an excursion to the Tatio Geysers. If you think leaving before sunrise seems early, this is so that we can enjoy the phenomenon of fumaroles forming on the geothermal field. After a first visit to the site, we will enjoy breakfast in the company of Andean seagulls and other companions. We then head for the mud geysers, a little-known site that offers a landscape that is rather different to the main geothermal field. We'll walk carefully between the fully active geysers - a guaranteed spectacle. We then continue on to the white geyser, a very secluded spot where you can take a dip* in the thermal mountain water - and enjoy some guaranteed peace and quiet. *Swimming subject to weather conditions and water temperature at the outlet of the white geysers. Continue on to the villages of Chiu Chiu and Caspana, famous for their traditions and religious festivals. To get there, we'll follow a track that will take you into desert territory, an adventure in itself. In Chiu Chiu, we visit one of Chile's oldest churches. Built of adobe in 1540, this church is in an astonishing state of preservation. At around 2pm, transfer to the airport and flight to Santiago. Your driver will meet you and take you to your accommodation.

DAY 6 - SANTIAGO (FLIGHT) / PUNTA ARENAS / PUERTO NATALES: ARRIVAL IN PATAGONIA

Your driver will collect you from your accommodation and take you to Santiago Airport. Domestic flight Santiago- Punta Arenas Your driver will pick you up at the airport and take you to the Punta Arenas bus terminal. You will then take a bus to Puerto Natales. (Approximately 2 hours 30 mins) Your driver will pick you up at the bus station and take you to your accommodation in Puerto Natales.

DAY 7 - VISIT TO TORRES DEL PAINE NATIONAL PARK

As soon as you leave Puerto Natales, en route to the park, the excursion begins with a visit to the Cueva del Milodon. A cave where the virtually intact remains of this famous mammal have been found, a giant herbivore that roamed the region around 12,000 years ago. Continue to the park entrance and the Laguna Amarga sector. From here, on a clear day, we'll have a panoramic view of the famous granite towers, Las Torres del Paine. Further along, we can admire the park's iconic Cuernos de Paine, a majestic mountain range. From here, it's a short walk to Salto Grande, the park's largest waterfall. Our final stop will be in the Grey Lake area, where we'll take another short walk through a forest of Coigues (an endemic tree). We'll cross a suspension bridge over the Rio Pingo to reach the beach at Lac Grey. From here we'll have a breathtaking view of floating icebergs with the Grey Glacier in the background.

At around 9 a.m., your English-speaking guide will meet you at your hotel, and you will begin your morning with a guided walking tour of Valparaiso. Chile's legendary port, Valparaíso has been undergoing something of a rebirth since 2003, when its historic quarter was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The main trading port between Europe and the American Pacific coast during the 19th century, the city suffered an unprecedented economic crisis during the century thereafter. Today, you'll have the chance to wander through its narrow streets, climb its staircases and ride the funicular railways, as you discover the vestiges of its prestigious past. With its 45 hills, you'll discover a city with a unique topography and chaotic, colourful architecture. This diversity is reflective of the waves of Europeans who came to make their fortune during the city's glory days. Today, Valparaíso is also known as the South American capital of Street Art; an art form that combines bright colours, humour and political statements. Discover the works of art that adorn the city's walls.
