LEGENDS OF VIETNAM WITH OPTIONAL BEACH HOLIDAY IN PHU QUOC
Embark on a journey to discover an ancient country whose geographical outline resembles the shape of a dragon. Explore Tonkin, with its breathtaking chaos of mountains and karst peaks, the Red River Delta, and Hanoi, which has retained its authenticity.
In the centre, Annam offers a contrast between its rugged mountains and numerous beaches, the ancient town of Hoi An (2,200 years old), the Cham ruins at My Son, the former capital Hué with its citadel and imperial tombs, all boasting magnificent views that will delight all your senses. And do not forget Cochinchina in the south, where rice fields, bamboo hedges and conical hats are the norm - outdated symbols of a vibrant and authentic Asia.
After your cultural discoveries and immersions in Vietnamese life, enjoy a soothing seaside break (if opting for a beach extension). Head to Phu Quoc, a true haven of peace with pristine beaches, where crystal-clear waters blend with the tranquillity of palm trees swayed by the tropical breeze. This relaxing and authentic stopover invites you not only to enjoy an idyllic setting but also to delve into local crafts, from pearl farming to the production of the famous nuoc mam, before marvelling at the blazing sunsets that tint the horizon.
The vibrant city of Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) will dazzle you with its landmarks from the French colonial era.

Your detailed itinerary
Day 1 : Arrival in Hanoi
Arrival at Hanoi airport.
After customs formalities, you will be met by your driver and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel in Hanoi's Old Quarter.
Check-in at your hotel.
Free time.
Dinner at leisure.
Night at your hotel.
Day 2 : Discovery of Hanoi and its old quarter
Breakfast at the hotel.
Free day, to explore the city at your leisure.
Built on the site of the ancient citadel of Dai La, Hanoi was first chosen as the capital of Vietnam in 1010 by King Ly Thai Tô, under the name of Thang Long, the "city of the ascending dragon". It was also called Dông Kinh (capital of the East), deformed into Tunquin, then Tonkin by the Europeans, a name which in colonial times designated the north of the country (now Bac Bo). The name Hanoi only appeared later, in 1831. It's made up of "ha", meaning "river", and "noi", meaning "below". And the city is indeed located on the lower side of the Red River... The many lakes that dot the city are pools left behind by the Red River as it moved eastward over the centuries. Hanoi's old quarter is a fascinating place to visit and ideal for photos!
Lunch and dinner at leisure.
Overnight at your hotel.
Optional visit to Hanoi's old quarter and its gastronomy (1/2 day - private excursion).
Day 3: Cruise and overnight stay in Ha Long Bay
Breakfast at the hotel.
Pick-up at your hotel.
Boarding for the cruise.
Sail into the heart of Bai Tu Long Bay, the unspoilt eastern part of Ha Long Bay. This more secluded area is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers the same spectacular scenery of karst islets, wild creeks and mysterious caves, but in a more peaceful atmosphere.
Enjoy lunch against this dreamy backdrop, before setting off to explore the surrounding area by kayak or taking a swim in the emerald waters.
At the end of the day, admire the sunset over this picture-postcard landscape before enjoying a refined dinner on board.
And to finish off the day in style, why not enjoy the selection of board games on offer or try your hand at squid fishing under the floodlights? This fun and friendly activity will entertain young and old alike.
Overnight aboard the junk.
Day 4: Departure to Hué by night train
Start the day gently with a Tai Chi session at sunrise, to awaken your body and fill up on positive energy.
After breakfast, explore the Thien Canh Son cave, nestled in the heart of karst formations

We recommend you rent bicycles or motorbikes to get around freely (extra charge on site). Take the road to An Bang and enjoy the green countryside with its many rice paddies.
