Your detailed itinerary
DAY 1 - ARRIVAL IN MONTREAL
Arrive at Montreal airport and pick up your hire car. Welcome to Canada!
Montreal is the second-largest French-speaking city after Paris: history meets modernity with the historic Vieux Port and contemporary downtown area. Explore the historic district of Old Montreal, named Ville Marie by the first settlers and the most charming part of the city. You'll have the opportunity to visit the famous Place Jacques Cartier and the magnificent City Hall.
Continue to the city centre and don't miss the Place Ville Marie Observatory with its unique view of the city, 185 metres up high, as well as another of the city's special features: an underground network of cafés, restaurants and shops.
Meals not included. Overnight stay in Montreal.
DAY 2: MONTREAL
Two other neighbourhoods are particularly worth a visit: the Latin Quarter and Mount Royal, with Saint Joseph's Oratory and the magnificent park, a 200-hectare green space within the city. If you have time, we recommend a visit to the Olympic Park, where you can enjoy a tour of the botanical garden, the Biodome, the Olympic Stadium, or the Insectarium.
Meals not included. Overnight stay in Montreal.
DAY 3: QUEBEC
Quebec City is the capital of the province of Quebec and the oldest city in Canada. Behind the high stone walls, you can admire the star-shaped citadel and the impressive fortifications. Stop off at the Houses of Parliament before exploring the Vieux-Port, Place Royale, and Petit-Champlain. Lunch or dinner in a traditional sugar shack is highly recommended. You'll have the chance to learn the traditional art of maple syrup production before enjoying a memorable meal!
Meals not included. Overnight stay in Quebec City.
DAY 4: QUEBEC
Don't miss a visit to the impressive Montmorency Falls, a natural wonder that is actually higher than Niagara Falls. If you're not afraid of heights, you can even cross the falls by zip line - an exerience you'll never forget.
Meals not included. Overnight stay in Quebec City.
DAY 5 - CHARLEVOIX
Designated a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, the Charlevoix region joins the sea and the mountains: sheer cliffs, exceptional parks, impressive villas, and charming villages nestled at the foot of the hills or in peaceful coves.
Start with a visit to Bay Baie-Saint-Paul. Founded over 350 years ago, it is one of the oldest and most charming towns in Quebec.
Surrounded by the sea, mountains, and the great outdoors, Baie-Saint-Paul has long been a popular destination for artists and has managed to preserve much of its cultural heritage, including its century-old houses. Take a stroll along the narrow streets lined with quaint boutiques and art galleries before immersing yourself in the tranquillity of the beach. Then take route 362. This is a spectacular stretch of road. Known as the 'Route du Saint-Laurent', it is one of the most beautiful scenic routes in Canada.
It will take you to La Malbaie, where you can enjoy a stroll along the beautiful Rue du Quai in Pointe-au-Pic or climb the Chemin des Falaises to discover chic homes of the last century in an exceptional setting. Don't forget to visit the iconic Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu and ride the cycle path along the river.
**Meals not included. Overnight in Baie Saint Paul.
DAY 6 - CHARLEVOIX
The region's major attraction is the magnificent Hautes Gorges de la Rivière Malbaie National Park. The park is named after a series of valleys carved out of a range of high mountains reaching over 1,000 metres in altitude. The steep slopes, natural beauty, and unique course of the Malbaie River make this a truly exceptional site.
**Meals not included. Overnight in Baie Saint Paul.
DAY 7 - SAGUENAY
Now head for Jacques Cartier National Park. The park is home to a beautiful glacial valley, the Jacques-Cartier Valley, a spectacular 600-metre deep channel through which one of Quebec's most beautiful rivers winds.
It is a true nature lover's paradise where you can observe wildlife: moose, caribou, deer, wolves, foxes, river otters, and black bears. We recommend a trip in a traditional rabaska canoe.
Next explore the magnificent Saguenay Fjord National Park, a natural wonder with 100 kilometres of hiking trails along which to admire this beautifully preserved region.
Meals not included. Overnight stay in Saguenay.
DAY 8: Saguenay
If you want to continue exploring the wildlife, the Zoo Sauvage de St-Félicien won't disappoint. With 2.8 miles of hiking trails, 90 different species, and a total of 1000 animals, it is one of the largest zoos in Canada.
Now it's time to travel back in time, with a visit to the historic village of Val Jalbert. A true open-air museum, Val Jalbert is a reconstruction of a village from the 1920s. This is a unique opportunity to experience life in the past century through an exciting tour, interspersed with immersive live shows.
Meals not included. Overnight stay in Saguenay.
DAY 9 - MAURICIE
The Mauricie National Park is a wild region located in one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world, the southern Laurentians, on the north bank of the St. Lawrence River. With 150 lakes and 536 km2 of forests inhabited by wild animals, it is an exceptional unspoilt area. Various activities are available: kayaking, canoeing, swimming, hiking, etc.
Meals not included. Overnight stay in Mauricie.
DAY 10 - MAURICIE
We recommend a professional guided tour to observe the black bears in their natural habitat, or a seaplane tour to experience the natural beauty of the park from the sky.
You can also visit Trois-Rivières. Founded in 1634, it is the second oldest city in North America.
Meals not included. Overnight stay in Mauricie.
DAY 11 - OTTAWA
If you want to learn more about Canada's wildlife, stop by Omega Park.
Continue on to Ottawa, Canada's capital. Enjoy a visit to the Rideau Canal and the government buildings on Parliament Hill. Plenty of other attractions are highly recommended: The Byward Market, Embassy Row, Gatineau Park.
**Meals not included. Overnight stay in Ottawa.
DAY 12 - THOUSAND ISLANDS
Today you will visit a unique natural wonder, the Thousand Islands region. This is a group of more than 1,800 islands located in the St. Lawrence River, covering the border between the United States and Canada.
The islands vary in size from over 100 km2 to tiny stretches of land occupied by a single small hut. There are elaborate island mansions, such as the German-style Boldt Castle on Heart Island, and Singer Castle on Dark Island, with Gothic windows and secret passages.
We highly recommend embarking on a cruise.
Meals not included. Overnight stay in Kingston.
DAY 13 - TORONTO
Visit Toronto's most iconic landmark: the CN Tower, the tallest tower in the Western Hemisphere, considered one of the seven wonders of the modern world. Continue with a visit to Chinatown, Kensington Market with its Bohemian atmosphere, and the Eaton Centre with Yonge/Dundas Square, one of Canada's busiest and liveliest crossroads.
For shopping enthusiasts, take a stroll down Bloor Street, Toronto's and Canada's most famous shopping district.
Culture lovers should visit the Distillery District, which is considered Canada's major art, culture, and entertainment hub. The 19th century Victorian industrial buildings have been restored and today are home to unique shops, restaurants, and galleries.
Meals not included. Overnight stay in Toronto.
DAY 14 - TORONTO
We highly recommend a trip to Niagara Falls for a breathtaking sight of one of the seven wonders of the world. For an even more impressive experience, take a cruise and get closer to the falls: it's pure magic
