Day 1 | Arrival in Tokyo

Welcome to Japan! Upon your arrival in Tokyo, you will be taken for a shared shuttle transfer to the hotel. Once there, collect your Pocket Wifi at reception to stay connected throughout your stay. After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred by limousine bus from Tokyo city centre to the airport for your flight to Okinawa. Upon arrival in Naha, the capital of the archipelago, you will have free time to begin exploring this city with its tropical charm. Stroll along Kokusai Dori, the lively main street of Naha, lined with shops, restaurants, and local markets. For an initial glimpse of the island's rich heritage, a visit to Shuri Castle, a former royal residence and UNESCO World Heritage site, is an excellent option. You can also savour local culinary specialities such as rafute (braised pork) or goya champuru (vegetable and tofu stir-fry), typical of Okinawan cuisine.

Day 6 | Free day in Naha

After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a free day to explore Naha, a city with a tropical atmosphere and unique cultural influences. We suggest starting your visit at Kokusai Dori, the main avenue lined with traditional shops and typical restaurants, where you can taste local specialties and find some souvenirs. Nearby, the Makishi Ichiba Market is an ideal stop to discover authentic regional products. Continue with a visit to Shuri Castle, the former seat of the Ryukyu royalty and one of the most iconic sites of the archipelago. For a more spiritual immersion, the Okino-gu Shrine, one of the most important in Okinawa, offers a peaceful setting conducive to contemplation. Day 9 | Departure for Kyoto

After breakfast at the hotel, you will have free time before making your own way to Naha Airport to catch your flight to Osaka. Upon arrival in Osaka, you will be transferred by limousine bus to the city centre of Kyoto, the former imperial capital of Japan, where you will spend the night. Enjoy the rest of the day settling in and soaking up the calm and cultural atmosphere of this historic city, full of temples, gardens, and traditions.

Day 10 | Free day in Kyoto

After a delightful breakfast at the hotel, you will activate your Kansai Area Pass, allowing you to explore Kyoto and its surroundings freely. You will have the entire day to discover this historic city at your own pace. Among the must-see sites, start with a zen walk in the Arashiyama bamboo grove and visit the Tenryu-ji temple, a masterpiece of Zen architecture. Then, head to the Gion district, famous for its geishas and traditional streets, or wander through the Nishiki market, renowned for its colourful stalls and variety of local products.

For culture enthusiasts, don't miss the Fushimi Inari Shinto shrine with its thousands of red torii gates, as well as the Kiyomizu-dera temple with its splendid panorama over Kyoto. Maruyama-koen Park and the Chion-in temple are also worth a visit. Further north, visit the Nanzen-ji, one of the city's most famous Zen temples, before heading to the Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji), a UNESCO World Heritage site, and discovering the Ninna-ji temple and its magnificent rock garden.

With your Kansai Area Pass, you will also have the opportunity to visit other fascinating nearby cities such as Kobe, Himeji, Nara, or Wakayama.

Day 11 | Kyoto - Osaka

After breakfast at the hotel, you will take the train, using your Kansai Area Pass, to reach Osaka, Japan's culinary and commercial capital. Once you arrive, you will have the day free to explore the city as you wish.

Among the suggested visits, don't miss Osaka Castle, one of the country's most iconic landmarks, a witness to many eras of Japanese history. If you have a bit more time, you can also explore the Osaka Museum of History to learn more about the city's fascinating past.

For an authentic Osaka experience, wander through the lively districts of Umeda, Namba, and Shinsaibashi, perfect for shopping. In the evening, head to Dotombori, one of Osaka's most vibrant areas, where you can savour local specialities like kushikatsu (breaded skewers) and takoyaki (octopus balls), while soaking up the unique atmosphere created by the neon lights and quirky bars.

Day 12 | Free day in Osaka

After a delightful breakfast at the hotel, you will have a free day to explore Osaka at your own pace.

If you wish to discover traditional Japan, we suggest visiting the Sumiyoshi Shrine, an iconic place of Japanese culture, or the Osaka Tenmangu, a shrine located near the Tenma Pulala market, known for its artisan stalls and the Tenjinbashisuji shopping street.

For a more nature-oriented and peaceful escape, head to Minoh, located north of the city, where you can walk along a path lined with rivers and Japanese maples leading to a beautiful waterfall. Conclude this walk with a visit to the Katsuo-ji Temple, famous for its thousands of daruma, small figurines symbolising perseverance.

Day 13 | Return flight

After a final breakfast at the hotel, you will take the train to Osaka Airport using your Kansai Area Pass. This provides a convenient and quick transfer from the city centre to the airport for your return flight.

Accommodation

Check-in is generally mid-afternoon (3pm-4pm).

Minimum occupancy/room: 1 person.

Maximum occupancy: 2 people (2 adults or 1 adult and 1 child).

Age of children: 2 - 11 years / babies not permitted.

Single rooms available at extra cost.

Please note: The type of bed - a double bed or two separate beds - is not guaranteed. Any specific request concerning the type of sleeping arrangements (double bed/separate beds) is subject to availability and may incur a supplement.

For technical reasons, hotels may be replaced by similar accommodation and stages may be reversed.

In Japan, hotel rooms are often quite narrow and beds small. The accommodation included in this tour is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.

Please note that some hotels offer an eco-stay package. Bedding and cleaning are carried out approximately every 3 days, depending on the hotel.

Meals

If, due to airline schedules, the first or last day is cut short by a late arrival or an early departure, no reimbursement will be made. Similarly, any meal included in the board package that cannot be taken because of these timetables cannot be reimbursed. Also, depending on the timetable of any optional extras and excursions, any meals that cannot be taken at the hotel will be charged to the customer.

Transport

Airport-hotel shuttle transfer in Tokyo: The transfer is by shared shuttle bus. The shuttle will drop you off in front of your hotel and may make several stops along the way. 1 piece of luggage per person is included; for additional luggage, please contact us before departure.

Transfer by limousine bus from the city centre to Tokyo airport: The limousine bus (public transport) runs between the city centre and the airport. The stops closest to your accommodation will be given to you in your travel pack. The connection between the limousine bus stop and your accommodation is often made on foot, but can also be made by metro or bus depending on the location of your hotel.

Flights Tokyo - Naha - Osaka: The flight between Tokyo and Naha takes approximately 4 hours, and the flight between Naha and Osaka takes approximately 3 hours. Please note that the maximum weight for hold baggage is 15kg. For any additional baggage added at the time of booking, a supplement will be applied.

Transfer by limousine bus from Osaka airport to Kyoto city centre: The limousine bus (public transport) runs between the airport and the city centre. The stops closest to your accommodation will be given to you in your travel pack. The connection between the limousine bus stop and your accommodation is often made on foot, but can also be made by metro or bus depending on the location of your hotel.

Kyoto - Osaka train: In Japan, the train is undoubtedly one of the best ways of getting around quickly and easily. The train journey from Kyoto to Osaka takes between 30 and 40 minutes. You can do this with your Kansai Area Pass.

Kansai Area Pass 4 days: The Kansai Area Pass gives you unlimited access for 4 days to the various JR trains in the Kansai region, as well as JR buses. It also gives you one-day access to certain Keihan, Hankyu and Kyoto metro lines.

Osaka train - Osaka airport: You can transfer to Kansai airport (KIX) on your own using the Pass included in your package. If you are returning from Kobe (UKB) or Itami (ITM) airport, transfers will be at your own expense. In the event of an early morning flight (take-off before 10am), you will have to make your own way to the airport using a means other than your Pass, as train schedules do not allow you to be at the airport at these times. A supplement for a private transfer may be offered.

Good to know

If you are travelling alone, you will be asked to pay a surcharge for a single room. This additional charge will be automatically included in your quote.

Child rates will be applied for children from 2 to 12 years old in the case where the child shares the room with two adults. If the child is travelling with just one adult, the surcharge may be applied on an adult basis. If your child or children do not fit into the age group mentioned above, the rate will be communicated to you at the time of processing your order. If the room is equipped with a bunk bed, the bed height is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.

For safety reasons, the wellbeing facilities of most establishments are not accessible to children under 16 years old. Similarly, it is possible that some amenities or services require an additional charge or are unavailable for exceptional reasons.
