About This Deal
The Deal
Successful completion of this one-day training course allows participants to ride a moped or motorcycle on public roads. The qualification entitles 16 year olds to mount a 50cc steed, or those 17 or older to ride a bike of up to 125cc. Taught with a ratio of one instructor to three students in class and one instructor to two students on the road, the course is split into five stages. The day starts with an introduction to the CBT before moving on to practical on-site training including introduction to the motorcycle and basic machine and maintenance checks. The later sections see students swing a leg over a bike and develop clutch control, balance and low-speed manoeuvrability. Finally, a road-riding session covers all traffic scenarios while the student maintains radio contact with an instructor riding behind.
