Diners can peruse the a la carte menu and select a dish of their choice, with options such as the sirloin steak, which is cooked to the diner's liking and served with chunky chips, vine tomatoes and portobello mushrooms (usually £15.95). Alternatively, there is the barbecue chicken which is chargrilled and topped with bacon, mozzarella and barbecue sauce, served with salad and chunky chips (£11.95) or wholetail scampi served with salad and chips (£9.95). A glass of wine (£4.95) accompanies the meal to complete the experience.

The Merchant

Huddled close to the Scottish coast, the family-run Ravelston House venue provides a restaurant and bar area for relaxed dining. The Furlong restaurant provides traditional and contemporary dishes, and guests can also indulge in a spot of afternoon tea.
