G: How did this business come about?

“In their previous roles at top-tier investment banks and hedge funds, the founder’s used to help develop and teach the new intakes of traders. As the credit crunch started, and the financial markets became more prominent to the general public, the idea to bring investment bank-style trader training to the market and develop a team of traders through Savi was born.”

G: What sort of backgrounds and experience do the tutors have?

“The tutors have a great deal of experience in the markets working as traders at top firms such as Goldman Sachs, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Bank to name a few. As well as the new graduate intakes at their previous firms, the tutors have also given courses at prestigious universities and corporations globally.”

G: Can anyone pick up the requisite skills to be a trader?

“There has long been a myth that to be a successful trader you need to be very good at maths. While having this will not hinder your chances, it is not imperative. Nowadays computer platforms perform the calculations for you, and at Savi we have created numerous algorithmic models for our traders to use, which essentially give traders the guidance they need to put profitable trades on.”
