The Deal

Children with a love for animals can get up close to the inhabitants of Shepreth Wildlife Park, with a zookeeping experience (usually £60). Over the course of two hours, participants will meet real zookeepers who work at the park, and will learn about what it takes to look after a varied group of animals. During a VIP tour of the park, kids can snuggle up with rabbits, rats and skunks, and attempt to get to grips with snakes and creepy crawlies. There is also behind-the-scenes work to be done, allowing guests to get a little hands-on with animal cleaning and care. Arts and crafts will feature too, with children painting a bird box which can be taken home, along with a certificate, proving guests’ animal-loving credentials.

The Merchant

Shepreth Wildlife Park began as a private wild animal sanctuary in 1979 after an injured jackdaw was brought to the park. The park is home to a variety of species, which have either been rescued or are part of the European endangered species breeding programmes. There is the option to adopt an animal at the park and children’s parties are available.
