The historic Stanton Manor, once owned by Lord Burghley, Lord High Treasurer to Elizabeth I, stands on the edge of the Cotswolds, only a short drive away from Bath, Bristol and Swindon. Nestled inside its stone halls sits The Gallery Restaurant, an unpretentious eatery offering the best of traditional British cuisine. Decorated with soft pastels and dark wooden furniture, the dining room showcases the bright side of modernity, compounded by plush leather chairs and colourful glassware. Guests can peruse the list of available spirits, including various wines, ales and Britain's favourite G&Ts, served from the darkened wooden bar guarded by a pair of stuffed birds: a duck and a pheasant. Drinks can be taken alone or accompany one of the signature dishes of the place, such as sweet treacle tart, rabbit croquettes and Guinness-braised lamb shank.
