Giving diners an insight into the varied tastes of regional Indian cuisine, this taster menu kicks off with five starter dishes. They’ll include the grilled meats of shish kebab and chicken tikka, and crispy onion bhaji and pakora. Next up, five chicken and lamb mains are served in differing styles, and the meal is rounded off by ice cream and a cup of coffee. It can be taken seven days a week, from 6pm.

The Merchant

Specialists in authentic Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine, the team at The Pavilion aims to send diners on culinary journeys to the subcontinent. Based in Lea Marston, the restaurant serves regional recipes, classic curries, tandoori grills and house signature dishes, all of which can be complemented by a drop chosen from the wine list. Meals can be taken a la carte or takeaway, and the eatery can also cater for special events such as weddings and birthday parties. It opens its doors seven days a week.
