With a classic British menu and sizzling steaks cooked on volcanic rocks, the 18th century Quay Inn champions local produce at a location on the banks of the River Frome. Diners can enjoy a starter, such as crab salad with Marie Rose sauce (usually £6.95) and a main, such as beef stroganoff (£11.95), with a glass of wine each (£3.40). Those choosing the steak options can cook their own grill item at their table on a hot rock (up to £17.95).

G: Describe The Quay Inn's food in three words.

"You always want more – sorry, I know that's four words."

G: What kind of clientele does your restaurant appeal to?

"We're a warm, friendly pub with a family atmosphere, and our mixed clientele is made up of both locals and tourists."

G: What's the restaurant’s signature dish, and why do people love it?

"We have a reputation for serving great quality steaks, but we also receive many compliments on our seasonal favourites such as the beer-battered fish and chips, Dorset liver and bacon or local Kimmeridge mussels."

"It has to be the head chef's crab and lobster bisque: it's a rich and creamy piece of heaven that never disappoints!"
