Spider Plant
- Chlorophytum comosum 'Variegatum', also known as spider plant
- Ideal for beginners
- Variegated, strap-like foliage
- Produces long cascading stems with new baby plants at their tips
- With maturity produces upward-facing stems of white star-shaped flowers
- Can be used in a hanging basket or shelf where its stems can hang freely
- At maturity it may reach a height and spread of 50cm
Prayer Plant
- Calathea orbifolia, commonly known as the prayer plant
- Rounded leaves with silver and green stripes
- With a bushy, clump-forming habit
- Thrives in a warm room with good humidity
- Ideal for a bright bathroom or kitchen
- At maturity it may reach a height and spread of 80cm
Rubber Plant
- Ficus elastica 'Robusta' has an upright habit, making it suitable as an indoor tree
- Large, dark green, leathery leaves with paler undersides
- Ideal for a bright room, but copes well in a more shaded position
- Suitable for north-facing rooms
- At maturity it may reach a height of 300cm and a spread of 150cm
Swiss Cheese Plant
- Monstera deliciosa, also known as the swiss cheese plant
- Lustrous, dark green, heart-shaped leaves with characteristic splits
- Holes appear as the leaves grow, creating a palm-like effect
- Climbing plant for a moss pole
- Produces aerial roots which take moisture from the atmosphere as it grows
- Ideal for large entrance halls, conservatories and larger living spaces
- At maturity it may reach a height and spread of 2.5m
