Free flowing tours of the house allow you to explore at your leisure, with friendly and knowledgeable guides throughout. From decadent bedrooms and lavish drawing rooms to the stunning Great Hall and vast Long Gallery, there are architectural wonders and world-renowned collections in every room.

Set in around 1000 acres of parkland atop the rolling Howardian Hills, Castle Howard’s gardens range from the formal beauty of the historic 18th century walled garden with its stunning collection of roses and ornamental vegetable garden, to the wilderness of Ray wood, and the seasonal delights of Daffodils and Rhododendrons.

Enjoy a changing programme of exhibitions and events, including Christmas opening when the house is decorated for the festive season. Plus outdoor tours, illustrated children’s trail, adventure playground and summer boat trips on the Great Lake (weather permitting).
