About This Deal

This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Tomatin Distillery Visitor Centre, Inverness IV13 7YT Scotland

First stop is Tomatin distillery to taste some of their latest whiskies including up to 5 single casks which change throughout the year. Tomatin is possibly the funkiest distillery in Scotland! We love their branding, their staff are fun and their selection of whisky is superb. It is said that illegal whisky production was going on in the area since the 15th century but definitely from the 1700s and the first official distillery was established in 1897. Tomatin are forward thinking, creative and have a great sense of humour! Plus they're open on a Sunday so if you're visiting on a Sunday we'll definitely be going here and we think you'll love every minute of it.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Glen Ord Distillery Inverness, Muir of Ord IV6 7UJ Scotland

Founded in 1838 and currently owned by Diageo, Glen Ord distillery is the last remaining distillery on the Black Isle and what makes it stand out is the fact they still malt their own barley, something which very few distilleries still do on site, in fact they produce enough to supply other distilleries within the Diageo brand. There are a number of different options at Glen Ord from a wander round their exhibition (£3pp) to their Grain to Glass tour (£100pp) but whatever you decide to do we recommend you try some of the whiskies under the Diageo brand. Two of our go to everyday whiskies are the Lagavulin 16 and the Oban 14 both very different but delightful whiskies or if we're celebrating both of these distilleries have fantastic distillers editions. Glen Ord specialises in the Singleton of Glen Ord 12, 15 and 18yrs which are also all worth a taste.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: The Dalmore Distillery, Alness IV17 0UT Scotland

Views of the Distillery while you taste one of their delicious whiskies from Gavin's private collection.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Struie Hill, Tain IV19 1LD, UK

We will take you to one of our favourite views in Scotland for some whiskies from our private collection. It changes throughout the year as new bottles are released and old bottles are finished off with friends and family. Millionaires View is the perfect place to enjoy a dram or two with Inverness Whisky Tours.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Glenmorangie Distillery, on the A9 Ross-shire, IV19 1PZ Scotland

CURRENTLY SHUT DUE TO COVID-19. DUE TO OPEN ON SEPTEMBER 5TH. You will be guided around the distillery, learning about our flagship whisky, Glenmorangie Original, which is matured exclusively in the finest first and second fill white oak-bourbon casks for a minimum of ten years creating a smoother, rounder whisky. Throughout our Original Tour we will share with you the steps we take in the pursuit of perfection and in creating our whisky. And of course no tour would be complete without tasting a dram of this award winning whisky!

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Dornoch, Dornoch, Caithness and Sutherland, Scottish Highlands, Scotland

By this time of day it's usually time to give your palette a wee rest so we take a short drive over the Dornoch Firth and in to Dornoch for lunch. There are lots of options but our favourite is the Royal Dornoch Golf Hotel which serves delicious Highland fare with spectacular views out over the world class golf course and beach. While visiting Dornoch it would be rude not to drop by the Dornoch Castle Hotel which is home to one of Scotland's newest distilleries and one of the finest whisky collections in the Highlands. What's even better is they're all on the menu and and available to purchase by the dram. Sunny day? Then it's out to their gardens to enjoy a whisky in the sunshine or if it's a "wee bit chilly" then the castle bar is an extremely pleasant place to enjoy a fine single malt in the company of locals.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Balblair Distillery, Edderton IV19 1LB Scotland

Views of one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland and where the movie The Angel's Share was filmed.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Black Isle Brewery, Old Allangrange, Munlochy IV8 8NZ Scotland

The Black Isle Brewery also offers a short free tour and the Black Isle is another place I can highly recommend. Not a lot of the tours end up on the Black Isle which is a real shame as it is absolutely beautiful and has some great walks and an interesting history. Optional and often enjoyed by our guests.

Duration: 30 minutes
