Dating back to 914, this Medieval Fortress is one of the finest and most well-preserved castles in the UK. An historic group of timber-framed buildings dating from the late 14th century clustered round the Norman gateway into Warwick, less than five minutes’ walk from Warwick Castle. Founded in 1154 as a Cistercian monastic house has connections to Queen Victoria, Prince Charles and Jane Austen. Built on a land grant from King Henry II, it was later converted into the Leigh family home.

The older portion of the house, built from local red sandstone, was started in 1561 and successive generations added to the design. The newest part of the house was completed around 1720 and was designed by Francis Smith of Warwick.
