Highlights

This tour takes in some of the most dramatic and beautiful landscapes in Cornwall. We will visit some of the main filming locations used in the Poldark TV series. From abandoned mine engine houses to crashing surf and picturesque fishing coves, this tour has it all.

About This Deal

This tour to the far western shores of Cornwall is a journey into a magical landscape, unlike any other in Cornwall. Here we can visit the iconic granite cliffs and soft, white sand of secluded beaches with their turquoise waters used in many of the scenes from the Poldark series.

We will start the tour at Marazion where we can get some fantastic photographs of St Michael’s Mount before heading around Mount’s Bay and driving through Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole and onto

Penberth Cove

Penberth Cove has been used throughout the Poldark series and is completely unspoilt, even retaining it’s capstan at the top of a cobbled slipway.

Minack Theatre

We will also visit the astounding Minack Theatre, the lifetime’s work of Rowena Cade and Porthcurno where submarine transatlantic telegraph cables come ashore below the sands of this idyllic beach.

Porthgwarra

This timeless fishing cove is also worth a visit, instantly recognisable as the secluded beach where Ross takes a swim in the crystal clear water, watched by Demelza from the cliff top.

After taking in the beautiful beaches and coves we will head to the historic mines near St Just and try to imagine how life would have been for the Cornish miners hundreds of years ago.

Botallack

The iconic Botallack with it’s famed Crowns engine houses perched at the foot of the cliffs, these were used as Wheal Grambler in the Poldark series, Just along the magnificent cliffs we can also visit Wheal Owles, used as Wheal Leisure in the series.

One of the best drives in the UK then follows as we head to St Ives, passing alongside Zennor on the way.
