The road to diving in the big blue can begin with an open-water referral course, which runs across five 120-minute sessions. The safe confines of the heated Reddish Vale High School pool will be the sight of the practical elements. On successful completion after a written exam, graduates will receive an Open Water Referral Certificate, which allows them to graduate to the Open Water Diver course and take the plunge in deeper waters.

Restrictions: Mandatory booking required. Check availability and book here. 48-hour cancellation policy. Must be 10 or older. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Equipment provided. Must bring towel, swimming costume and a t-shirt. Must sign medical form, permission from GP may be required. Must be able to swim 200 meters and be able to tread water for 10 minutes. £35 surcharge for open water manual. Valid on option purchased only.
