The Event

The New London Theatre hosts a limited run of Ross Collins' The Elephantom this summer. Following the story of a girl visited by a big blue elephant, the duo have all sorts of ghostly fun before the elephant's attempts to adjust to a house that is just a little too small for him get a bit messy. Having previously proved popular at the National Theatre, the show adapts the original picture book for the stage with an imaginative blend of puppetry, dance, movement and larger-than-life costumes.

The Guardian

The Elephantom's performances at The National Theatre earned crowd-pleasing scores of 4/5 from both The Telegraph and The Guardian. Both critics were keen to praise the imagination of the show, as well as its clever use of puppetry to propel the story along.

"There's lots of lovely detail – from a magical manifestation of hands to a gently flicking cat's tail – in a show that eventually reveals a big heart and an even bigger imagination."

Lyn Gardner, The Guardian, 15 December 2013
