Treatments were great but the pool area needs updating as it's a bit old and tatty

Spa treatments were good, however it's not a spa, there was a tiny swimming pool that was freezing cold and looks very old and dirty. Hotel is old and needs a lot of work.

Sunday lunch .... 3 courses £9.99 Groupon deal. It was a lovely atmosphere in the dining room and the chef and staff were so attentive. I had recently had my hip replaced and had a crutch that day - the chef came round to help me carry/select my food from the service area. We were the last customers for lunch 2.30pm but we were made to feel at ease and there was no rush for us to finish. Will definitely go again the roast brisket was amazing.

Very old and dated, not a spa more like a small gym with a pool. Wouldn't recommend!

We had a lovely day,the treatments were the highlight for us. It was worth the money we paid. The pool area is certainly in need of a refurb, it didn't spoil our experience. .

Had a lovely day at Buxton palace... the treatments and afternoon cream tea, were excellent, the only down side was the pool area! It was very dark & dingy, and no loungers to lay and relax..! The hotel is very dated, & is in much need of a refurb....!

Lovely hotel in Buxton. The 3 course Sunday lunch was excellent. Plenty of choice and the food was hot. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The weather was glorious when we went, so after lunch we were able to have coffee sat outside on the picnic benches. Thoroughly recommended.

I've had an afternoon tea and a Sunday dinner. The service of the afternoon tea was so bad, we were finally able to complain after a week of not being able to get hold of any manager. We were offered a second one, a chance for them to redeem themselves. It was ok but not asked if we wanted any additional drinks, staff just didn't seem to care. My husband unaware of this had booked a Sunday lunch for us and his parents. Again the service wasn't good, there was limited choice of food and the deserts looked ok, however the three deserts on offer had nothing to accompany them, who has a crumble with no custard/ cream. Tables were left messy around us. After speaking to my mum, she said she received the same poor service and quality of food 18 months prior!!! Stay away.
