From Our Editors

Perusing the world from on top of the Bar Hill, Whale of a Time opens its doors to young explorers ready to taste the play outside of their home. With separate areas for different ages, crawlers and older kids can all find something safe and stimulating in a choice of multi-levelled playframes with slides, ball ponds, trampolines and other activities. While the young entertain themselves under the watchful eye of experienced carers, guardians can take a seat at the chill-out area, providing internet access and a selection of food and drink. For the warmer summer months, an outdoor seating and play area are available, with a variety of sit-on pedal tractors and large tower playframe for children to go wild at.

Children can run around and burn off energy safely. Great coffee is served, and you don't have to fight traffic to get there!

Kids always have fun but could do with a refresh and maybe a better menu for food

Always have fun here with our 2 year old but I feel some updating is needed.. a bright shiny sign outside first of all and inside the toilets look a bit tired door often propped open with a bin, small cubicles also it can feel a bit chilly.

My children love it here, and I really like that you can see them pretty much wherever they are. The place is very clean and the staff are lovely. The only downside is the price of the food and drink. We would stay longer if the prices were more reasonable.

We went there with younger children and were a bit disappointed by the experience. The whole place looks a bit dated, it's too small for the amount of people there. The older children ran a riot in the under 4s area however the staff quickly had a word when reported. If you are going there with toddlers there isn't much to do for them, better suited for older children.
