Appreciate the health club here is used by hotel guests and they have to accommodate their members, but I don't think it is fair to call this a "spa". The facilities were very basic, just a swimming pool with poolside sauna, steam room, jacuzzi. There wasn't any space around the pool and very limited number of seats to relax in. We were meant to be there for a full day but thank goodness we weren't. It really is just a hotel with a pool, not a spa. On arrival the reception area is very crammed, the door to the staff office was open and we could see all the mess in there, one member of staff was sitting in the waiting area on her mobile phone. The gentleman who greeted us was very polite and helpful. The changing rooms were clean, but very small and cramped.
With regard to the treatments mine was fine but unfortunately the therapist who treated my friend was not very good at all. The treatment was cut short by 15 minutes and throughout the massage my friend felt it was all very rushed. The therapist had a bottle of water in the treatment room with her, while I appreciate it was a very hot day, all my friend could hear was the therapist drinking from the bottle which wasn't very relaxing. She also kept stopping mid-massage to drink and she was seated throughout the whole treatment. The therapist was not really interested what my friend would like from her treatment, she was more interested in her bag - asking if it was a fake.
We were both excited by the thought of using Decleor products but neither therapist explained what products they were using or whether we would be interested in buying any. This was a shame as we both would have liked to purchase something.
With regard to the afternoon tea - too many sweet elements and not enough savoury, there was 9 small finger sandwiches between two, 4 cakes, a meringue and a sweet scone. Again, the gentleman who served us was lovely but unfortunately the actual food was not so great.
Overall I'm glad I only paid £109 for the day but with regard to the overall day, feel this was too much.
